90,000 euros for the Flachgau Food Bank: the BIOGENA Golf Charity Tournament at Gut Altentann sends a strong message of solidarity

Henndorf am Wallersee, 11 June 2026 – Sporting ambition, social commitment and solidarity in action were at the heart of this year’s BIOGENA Golf Charity Tournament, which took place on 11 June 2026 at the renowned Leading Golf Course Gut Altentann. As part of the activities of the BIOGENA One World Foundation – which was known as the Nutrition for Life Foundation until 2026 – numerous entrepreneurs, partners, top athletes and supporters gathered to tee off together for a good cause.

The results of the tournament were impressive: a total of 90,000 euros was raised for the Flachgauer Tafel. The donations will support the organisation’s vital work in providing people affected by poverty in the Flachgau region with salvaged food.

Das Ergebnis des Turniertages kann sich sehen lassen: Insgesamt konnten 90.000 Euro zugunsten der Flachgauer Tafel gesammelt werden. Mit den Spendengeldern wird die wichtige Arbeit der Organisation unterstützt, die armutsbetroffene Menschen im Flachgau mit geretteten Lebensmitteln versorgt.

Numerous prominent figures from the world of Austrian elite sport provided the sporting highlights. Among others, national ice hockey player Thomas Raffl and former skiing stars Thomas Sykora and Philipp Schörghofer took to the course themselves and demonstrated their skills on the historic course at Gut Altentann. Their involvement underlined the special character of the event, which impressively combined sporting competition with a sense of social responsibility.

A special hole-in-one competition added to the excitement on the course: BMW Frey offered a MINI as an attractive special prize. Despite numerous successful tee shots, however, the dream of the perfect shot remained unfulfilled – the car prize could not be awarded.

Für zusätzliche Spannung auf dem Platz sorgte ein besonderer Hole-in-One-Wettbewerb: BMW Frey stellte einen MINI als attraktiven Sonderpreis zur Verfügung. Trotz zahlreicher gelungener Abschläge blieb der Traum vom perfekten Schlag jedoch unerfüllt – der Fahrzeugpreis konnte nicht vergeben werden.

A significant contribution to the impressive total raised was made during the evening’s programme. Alongside a large charity raffle featuring numerous high-quality prizes, the programme included several exclusive auctions. Two extraordinary experiences and a work of art by the Salzburg-based artist Jürgen Fux were successfully auctioned off.

The raffle winners were drawn by property entrepreneur Marlies Muhr, who acted as the lucky draw host for the evening and added to the excitement.

The event was accompanied by live music from the band Less Affair, who created a fantastic atmosphere. The Schloss Thaller Winery brought the evening to a delightful close with an exclusive wine tasting.

Die Ziehung der Tombolagewinnerinnen und -gewinner übernahm die Immobilienunternehmerin Marlies Muhr, die als Glücksfee durch den Abend führte und für zusätzliche Spannung sorgte.

Musikalisch begleitet wurde die Veranstaltung von der Live-Band Less Affair, die für beste Stimmung sorgte. Das Weingut Schloss Thaller rundete den Abend mit einer exklusiven Weinverkostung genussvoll ab.

The Flachgauer Tafel is understandably delighted with the amount raised.

With around 220 volunteers, the Flachgauer Tafel currently provides salvaged food to some 1,800 people affected by poverty in the Flachgau region. In 2025, more than 370 tonnes of perfectly good food were saved from being thrown away and distributed.

“Particularly in times of rising costs and, at the same time, virtually no support from the public sector, we are more dependent on donations than ever before. The funds are urgently needed for running costs such as the rent for our three distribution centres, energy and insurance costs, fuel for our delivery vehicles, and other operating expenses,” says Wendlinger.

Chairman Johann Schmidinger is also deeply moved by the result: “We are overwhelmed and deeply grateful for this fantastic support. The donation of 90,000 euros is of inestimable value to the Flachgau Food Bank and helps us to continue our daily work for people affected by poverty in our region. This solidarity impressively demonstrates what is possible when many people come together to support a good cause.”

The successful charity tournament was made possible by numerous sponsors and partners.
