What makes our L-Lysine 500 special?
BIOGENA L-Lysine 500 is derived entirely GMO-free through the fermentation of maize. Our in-house production facility in Salzburg guarantees the highest quality and purity thanks to our unique manufacturing standard. This results in L-lysine of the highest quality with a purity of over 99.5%. Naturally, we do not use any animal ingredients in the production of L-Lysine 500, so the product is 100% vegan and our L-lysine is therefore based on purely plant-based, renewable raw materials.
L-lysine as an amino acid counterpart to arginine
The L-lysine amino acid is the "antagonist" of L-arginine in the body through a shared cell transporter - a system that needs to remain in balance but occasionally falls out of balance, for example due to stress or poor nutrition. As arginine is a nutrient of the herpes viruses, an excess of the amino acid accelerates the spread of the viruses. As a counterpart, L-lysine can inhibit the uptake of arginine into the cells. This enables the body to convert the freely available arginine into useful nitric oxide rapidly when required. A good supply of L-lysine therefore supports the natural prevention of herpes, while an increased supply of L-lysine ensures rapid wound healing after the outbreak of cold sores or fever blisters.
