New production site in Salzburg-Liefering creates additional capacity for the best-selling BIOGENA ONE and strengthens Austria as a production hub

Salzburg, 9th of September 2026. BIOGENA is continuing on its growth trajectory and is investing more than four million euros in expanding its own production facilities. With the commissioning of a new production site in the Liefering district of Salzburg, the Austrian micronutrient company is creating additional capacity for its best-selling product, BIOGENA ONE, and paving the way for further growth. In future, the entire sachet production of BIOGENA ONE – from the processing of raw materials to dispatch – will be centralised across approximately 3,500 square metres of production and storage space.

Demand for BIOGENA ONE has risen steadily since its market launch in 2024. With the new production site, BIOGENA is responding to this growth whilst simultaneously creating additional capacity at its existing production site in Koppl, as resources there will be freed up for other products and future developments. The new production line is currently designed for an output of around 180 sachets per minute. By way of comparison: at the existing site, production output stood at around 100 sachets per minute. At the same time, the new site offers further potential for future capacity expansions.

“With the new production site, we are making a targeted investment in our future. Demand for BIOGENA ONE is growing extremely rapidly, which is why we are systematically expanding our production capacities. At the same time, we are strengthening our production in Austria and laying the foundations for continuing to supply our customers reliably, flexibly and to the high quality they have come to expect. The Liefering site is an important milestone in our long-term growth strategy,” says Dr Albert Schmidbauer, founder and CEO of BIOGENA.

The whole production bundled at a single site

In future, all stages of production for BIOGENA ONE will be carried out at the new production site in Liefering: from weighing the raw materials, through mixing and packaging, to quality control, order picking and direct dispatch. The integrated warehouse eliminates the need for additional transport routes, thereby simplifying logistics processes and enabling products to be dispatched more quickly.

The site currently employs 16 staff working in two shifts. The infrastructure has already been designed to allow for future expansions of production capacity.

Modern production for greater efficiency and quality

Efficient processes and attractive working conditions were also central to the design of the new site. An atrium provides natural light in the production hall and creates a pleasant working environment. The waste heat from the extraction systems is used to heat the hall during the winter months. In addition, there are 15 charging points available for the electric vehicles in BIOGENA’s company fleet.

As with the existing production sites, the new production site also meets the highest quality and safety standards. Production follows the same certified processes as in Koppl, including the internationally recognised FSSC 22000 food safety certification.

“A new production site does not spring up overnight. Behind this project lie many months of intensive planning and excellent collaboration between a wide variety of teams. The fact that we can now commission a site that provides modern production conditions whilst also offering scope for further growth makes me and the entire project team particularly proud,” says Stefan Klinglmair, COO of BIOGENA and project manager for the new production site.

A foundation for further growth

With this new production site, BIOGENA is expanding its production capacity and laying the foundations to continue meeting rising demand in the future with short lead times, high production quality and a secure supply. At the same time, the site offers further scope for expansion and is therefore a key component of the company’s long-term development.
