BIOGENA GROUP invests in HEROSAN

Through Biogena Management Holding GmbH, the BIOGENA GROUP has acquired a 13.7 per cent stake in the Styrian company HEROSAN Healthcare GmbH. With this investment, the Salzburg-based healthcare company is strategically expanding its presence in the animal health sector. At the same time, BIOGENA, HEROSAN and REPLOID are pooling their expertise to further develop innovative solutions for the health and wellbeing of pets.

HEROSAN specialises in high-quality products in the fields of animal nutrition and animal health. Like BIOGENA, the company takes a holistic approach and focuses on innovative product concepts and carefully selected raw materials. The existing portfolio complements the range offered by BIOGENA PETS, the division of the BIOGENA GROUP specialising in animal health.

In addition to its many years of experience in developing scientifically sound health products, BIOGENA brings to the partnership, in particular, its expertise in the areas of research, product development, quality and brand building. Furthermore, the group’s extensive medical and scientific network is set to support HEROSAN’s further development.

REPLOID Group AG has recently increased its existing stake in HEROSAN to a majority of over 50 per cent. Among other things, REPLOID brings its expertise in the circular economy and the extraction of innovative raw materials to the partnership. The two HEROSAN founders and managing directors, Cornelia Pint and Daniel Taurer, retain a 33 per cent stake in the company via PT26 Holding GmbH.

The new shareholder structure thus combines a range of strengths: HEROSAN’s experience in animal nutrition and animal health, BIOGENA’s expertise in health and product development, and REPLOID’s know-how in raw materials and the circular economy.

With BIOGENA PETS, the BIOGENA GROUP has extended its holistic health concept to include pets. The division develops high-quality dietary supplements specifically for dogs, combining scientific expertise with a consistent commitment to quality. The stake in HEROSAN creates further opportunities to develop the range in the animal health sector and to tap into new product and sales potential.
