Folic acid belongs to the group of B vitamins and is also known as vitamin B9. Folic acid is involved in a number of metabolic processes in the body, such as the conversion of homocysteine into methionine. The branded raw materials Quatrefolic® and Extrafolate-S® Crystal contained in Folic acid 800 µg activated contain folic acid in activated form as high-quality 5-methyltetrahydrofolate. These compounds can therefore be absorbed particularly easily and are directly available to the organism, as they do not first have to be converted into the active form. Folate plays a role in cell division and blood formation and contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. This vitamin is also important during pregnancy, as it is essential for the growth of maternal tissue. In this special phase of life, the need may be increased.
